Ryan North gets set to write Archie anniversary special
In his newsletter, Ryan North revealed that he’s set to write a story Archie #4 – a special oversized 85th-anniversary issue. Ryan will join forces with Derek Charm as part of the team of creators for the comic book that’s destined for sale in December.

Danila Botha reveals upcoming graphic novel
In a recent podcast interview about her new Vidal graphic novel, Danila Botha dropped hints about her next graphic novel project. Without divulging too many secrets, Danila said the story will focus on three sisters who are really close but all very different.

CBC Books promotes back to school offerings
CBC Books published a list of Canadian books for students to read as they return to school. Notables include:
– First Crush by Cassandra Calin (published by Scholastic)
– Love in Every Language by Anoosha Syed (published by Penguin Random House)
– Ready, Cassette, Go! by Jarett Sitter (published by Annick Press)

Conundrum Press celebrates 30 years at Halifax Art Book Fair
As their 30×30 tour rolls along, Conundrum Press will exhibit at the Halifax Art Book Fair on September 11 to 12 at All Nations Church in Halifax, Nova Scotia. In celebration of the 30th year event, Conundrum Press will present the new anniversary of graphic shorts.

Ian Boothby and Pia Guerra bring Sparks to the stage
During their podcast interview Frostbite: A Graphic Novel, Ian Boothby and Pia Guerra spoke about adapting the Sparks graphic novels for a stage production. Starting this December, the Vancouver-based duo are planning for a mixture of live performance, puppets, cartoons and more.

Zine Dump 2026 applications now open
The Toronto-based Zine Dump 2026 applications are being accepted until September 7. The annual event, taking place at Cecil Community Centre in Toronto, Ontario, on November 8, has a goal to provide a venue for independent publications, radical art and ideas.
