Bruce Arthurs’ art included in new Luchadores book
In advance of the Sep. 25 launch date, Bruce Arthurs announced his artistic contribution to Luchadores vs Everything. The new book, featuring Bruce Arthurs’ Luchadores art, is described as the ‘definitive book on Lucha libre and Mexican pop culture.
Cecil Castellucci launches new Black Hole comic book
After concluding a year long project collaborating with scientists at the Center of Gravity at the Niels Bohr institute on Copenhagen, Cecil Castellucci edited the Black Hole comic book. The book was created, thanks to a generous grant from the Carlsberg Foundation, to explain black holes. The free public outreach book is available here https://bhcomics.github.io/download/
Megan Huang announces new dinosaur graphic novel
In an Instagram post, Megan Huang wrote that she will be producing a new graphic novel entitled PlacoDERP with a focus on dinosaurs. The new book will be published by BOOM! Studios in the summer of 2027.
Vivan Zhou announces The Crow Princess
In an Instagram post, Vivian Zhou revealed the launch date for her forthcoming graphic novel The Crow Princess is April 20, 2027. Vivian offered that the First Second graphic novel is loosely inspired from Chinese mythology about ‘what happens when you rescue an injured crow who turns out to be a princess from the mountains’.
Paulus Linnaeus promises more Demonhuntress stories
During a podcast interview, Paulus Linnaeus discussed his latest offering entitled The Demonhuntress: Short Story Collection vol. 1. He also offered details about future plans for the title character with a promise of stories for years to come.
Francine Delgado cover art revealed for Blood of Atlantis #4
In an Instagram post, the cover art by Francine Delgado was unveiled for Blood of Atlantis #4. The new issue will be promoted via Kickstarter starting on September 29.
Ho Che Anderson promotes new omnibus book
In an Instagram post, Ho Che Anderson wrote that the omnibus version of I Want To Be Your Dog is slated for sale on September 15. Published by Fantagraphics, the new collection includes additional content including deleted pages and a pin-up gallery.
Megan Huang slated for ICON event
From November 6 to 7, the Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles, California will host the first ever ICON Festival of Comic & Narrative Art, featuring contemporary comic book artists including Megan Huang. The inaugural ticketed event will be preceded by a VIP opening night reception allowing attendees a unique opportunity to visit with the artists.
Greystone Kids publishes kids adventure book featuring David Suzuki
Based on true-life adventures, Bompa’s Intertidal Adventure written by David Suzuki and Sarika Cullis-Suzuki and Tanya Lloyd Kyi has been released by Greystone Kids. With illustrations by Qin Leng, the story features facts about intertidal zone creatures, how to protect intertidal zones and how children can have fun with grandparents.
Adam De Souza to present at Thought Bubble 2026
Thought Bubble has released this year’s programming in conjunction with the annual comic book event. Adam De Souza has been selected to present his acclaimed series Blind Alley on November 16 at the Attic in Leeds, United Kingdom.

Yesterday marked the 25th anniversary of the terrible tragedy of 9-11. Many will remember where they were on that fateful day when the jets fell from the skies and many lives were lost. In the aftermath, everyone felt compelled to do something in response — helping neighbours, thanking firefighters or just trying to do better.
Comic book creators also wanted to contribute in some way. The result was a series of graphic novels and comic books that offered readers a way to remember and honour loved ones, friends and fellow citizens. Along with many talented creators, Canadians also contributed to the effort with the following results:
