Kristy Jackson to read at Saskatoon library in June

Ting Comics Graphic Arts Festival announces lineup

Bédéis prize winners announced
In an Instagram post, the winners of the 39th eBédéis Causa Awards were announced to highlight the creativity and excellence of Quebec comic books and graphic novels. The winners include:
– Van Lalonde for La nuit aux loups (published by Castleman) in the Prix Réal-Fillion category
– Jimmy Suzan for Migrasyon (published by La Patèque) in the Grand Prix Québec BD category
– Julie Rocheleau for Globetrotteuses: the world tour of Nellie Bly and Elizabeth (published by Dargaud) in the Prix Albéric-Bourgeois category
– Sampar for Chronicles of Alleys T. 2 : The meetings of Zara (published by Michel Quintin) in the Prix Yvette-Lapointe category

Windsor comic book store raises money to fight child cancer
CTV News reported Paper Heroes Comic Book Lounge & Collectibles in Windsor, Ontario plans to raise money via a charity raffle to help fight child cancer. Scott St. Amour with the comic book store spoke about the subject of raising funds and encouraged other local businesses to join the effort.

Tundra Books selected Best Children’s Publishers of the Year (North America)
Kids Book Centre announced that Tundra Books was selected as the Best Children’s Publishers of the Year (North America). The Bologna Prize organized by the Bologna Children’s Book Fair and Associazione Italiana Editori (AIE; Italian Publishers Association) in partnership with the International Publishers Association (IPA), awards publishers who have most distinguished themselves for their professional and intellectual skills.

Thought Bubble features Kate Beaton and Adam de Souza for UK convention
Broken Frontier wrote that Kate Beaton and Adam de Souza are among the first guests announced at Thought Bubble Festival 2026. The comic book convention is slated to take pace November 14 to 15 at Harrogate Convention Centre in the United Kingdom. More guests to be announced in the coming weeks.

Darcy Van Poelgeest announces new graphic novel
AIPT Comics reported on a new graphic novel from Darcy Van Poelgeest. Planned for store shelves on September, The Cutting Garden is illustrated by Erin Connally and tells the story of a florist and the mysterious customer.
