Matthew Daley wins Society of Illustrators award
In an Instagram post, Matthew Daley announced winning the Gold Award in the Graphic Novels/Comics category at Illustration West 64. He also won Honorable Mention in the same category at the event.

Chip teases Avengers: Armageddon
Marvel.com interviewed Chip Zdarsky about the story planned for Avengers: Armageddon #1 comic book planned for sale on June 3. During the chat, Chip talked about the lineup of heroes, how the story will ‘shake things up’, and why the Red Hulk is the antagonist.

Don Sparrow recognized by Saskatchewan government
In an Instagram post, Don Sparrow noted the acknowledgement by the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan of his creative work while promoting arts across the province. Among his many creative works, Don was recognized for his work in graphic novels plus his unique role in representing Canada at the 51st annual Angoulême International Comics Festival in 2024.

Conundrum Press in the spotlight
CBC Listen’s Jeff Douglas spoke with Andy Brown on the Mainstreet NS radio program. During the chat, Andy spoke about the Conundrum Press crowdfunding campaign to help with printing fees in light of the Nova Scotia government eliminating a publisher assistance program.

Svetlana Chmakova sells rights to new graphic novel
Publishers Weekly announced that Svetlana Chemakova has sold the rights to her upcoming graphic novel Fight to Yen Press. The write up mentions that the middle-grade graphic novel follows characters from Svetlana’s previous graphic novel Brave and is slated for publication in late 2026.

Andy Brown in conversation with Joe Ollman
In an Instagram post, Joe Ollman revealed that he plans to interview Andy Brown to celebrate 30 years of Conundrum Press. According to the write up, the conversation is slated to occur on May 13 at 7 pm at Epic Books in Hamilton, Ontario.

2026 Aurora Awards feature graphic novel and comic book nominations
LOCUS Mag posted the nominees for the 2026 Aurora Awards. In the Best Graphic Novel/Comic category, the nominees are:
