Chris Sanagan shares comic book writing tips at workshop
In an Instagram post, Vocamus Writers Community announced that Chris Sanagan will lead a workshop about writing comic books. The event is slated for Sunday, February 22 from 2 pm to 3 pm at the main Guelph Public Library in Guelph, Ontario.

Boum talks about award-winning graphic novel The Jellyfish
CBC’s Mattea Roach interviewed Boum about her award-winning graphic novel The Jellyfish published by Pow Pow Press. During the chat, Boum answers questions about basing the story on personal experiences, how to properly convey those aspects in the book, and how she approached the characters as they deal with the issues.

Sophie Escabasse wins Best Children’s Series award
In an Instagram post, Sophie Escabasse announced The Witches books have been chosen as the winner for the Graphic Novels & Comics Round Table for Outstanding Comic Award for Best Children’s Series. The goal of GNCRT ‘continues to be a vital voice for comics in libraries—uplifting creators, connecting communities, and broadening access to the art and power of storytelling through sequential art’.

Paige Walshe wins Outstanding Comics Award
In an LinkedIn post, Paige Walshe announced that Froggy: A Pond Full of Pals! won the Outstanding Comics Award for Children’s fiction. The award was presented by the American Library Association’s Graphic Novel & Comics Round Table.

Deadline for PCF 2026 applications closes Feb. 14
In an Instagram post, the organizers of the Prairie Comics Festival issued a reminder that the deadline for exhibitor applications is February 14 (a date not just for Valentine’s Day). Celebrating 10 years, the Prairie Comics Festival is scheduled to take place September 5 to 6 at The Manitoba Museum, Alloway Hall, in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Conundrum Press announces 2026 catazine
In an Instagram post, Conundrum Press announced the availability of this year’s 30th anniversary expanded edition of the 2026 Conundrum Press catazine. The offering contains comics previews, essays and more now available at participating comic shops, independent bookstore and on the Conundrum Press website.
