In an Instagram post, Ivan Kocmarek announced that Cartoon Foundry – Hamilton’s annual non-profit cartooning event – now has a YouTube channel. The write up encourages subscribers and suggestions to make the channel the best it can be.

Toronto Comic Arts Festival announces auction Dec 1 to 12
On its website, the Toronto Comic Arts Festival is currently running a silent auction until December 12 featuring one-of-a-kind original art from Canadian creators including Ryan North, Jillian Tamaki, Chip Zdarsky, Derek Laufman, Jen Woodall, Faith Erin Hicks, Ho Che Anderson and many more. All funds raised in the auction go to support TCAF’s 2026 programming.

George Todorovski signs today in Kingston
In an Instagram post, George Todorovski announced he is signing his latest art books today at Kingston Nexus Holiday Artisan Alley. George mentioned that all of his publications including the George Todorovski Sketchbook Volume Two will be available to be purchased and signed.

Agnes Garbowska to exhibit at Seoul Comics Week

The New York Public Library published a list of the ‘Best Books for Kids 2025’ and Canadian creators are in the mix including:

– Whitney Gardner for Free Piano (Not Haunted)
– Kate Beaton for Shark Girl

Rhael McGregor signs today in Winnipeg

2026 Doug Wright Awards calls for entries
In an Instagram post, the Doug Wright awards announced it’s accepting submissions for the 2026 slate of awards. According to the website, submissions for books published in the 2025 calendar year will be accepted until January 9, 2026 in the following categories: The Doug Wright Award for Best Book, The Nipper/The Doug Wright Award for Emerging Talent, The Pigskin Peters/The Doug Wright Award for Best Small- or Micro-Press Book, The Egghead/The Doug Wright Award for best kids’ book, and The Giants of the North/The Cartooning Hall of Fame.

Renee Nault announces new graphic novel
In an Instagram post, Renee Nault announced her new graphic novel entitled Salvage. The write up includes details about pre-ordering the hardcover and paperback in advance of the July 21 sale date from publisher Ten Speed Graphic.

Rosa Fung wins Foreword Indies Book of the Year award

Patrick Jenkins at Bound Book Arts Fair
In an Instagram post, Patrick Jenkins announced that he plans to exhibit at the Bound Book Arts Fair on Sunday, December 7 in Toronto. The write up mentions the event takes place at the Arts and Letters Club and Patrick will be selling and signing his flip books and graphic novel.
