Chip Zdarsky gave up social media to be more productive
Popverse interviewed Chip Zdarsky about his latest projects including the Marvel’s 2026 ‘Armageddon’ event. During the chat, Chip explained that stopping activity on social media helped increase his productivity. Quoting Chip: “When you actually don’t have this dopamine feeding machine on all day, you actually get your work done.”

RAID Studio announces Blitzmas
In an Instagram post, RAID Studio revealed the date of their festive celebration with the launch of BLITZ – their new creator-driven magazine. The event is slated for November 28 from 8 pm to midnight at the RAID Gallery & Cafe in Toronto, Ontario.

Howard Wong to participate in Richmond Hill annual book fair
The Richmond Hill Liberal wrote that Howard Wong will be among 30 independent local authors at the annual book fair taking place today in Richmond Hill, Ontario. In the article, Howard reflects on the event as it ‘helps fuel my insights on things on working on and developing.’

DC Comics revisits DC: The New Frontier
DC Comics published a blog looking back at DC: The New Frontier referred to as ‘the Darwyn Cooke classic’. The article recounts the story and the characters featured in the story. A great deal of praise is given to Darwyn for his talent including his writing and overall why it’s worth your time. Definitely worthwhile.

Vancouver Island comic book recounts flying officer’s survival story
The Nanaimo Bulletin wrote about True Comics #29 that depicts flying officer George McGladrey putting out a fire on an aircraft with his parachute. That comic book, now on display at the Vancouver Island Military museum, is part of an exhibit entitled ‘Real Canadian Hero and Comic Book Hero George (Scrammy) McGladrey RCAF’.

Cassandra Calin wins award for The New Girl
In an Instagram post, Kids Book Centre announced that Cassandra Calin won the Janet Savage Blachford Prize for Children’s & Young Adult Literature. Her graphic novel The New Girl was called by jurors “a joy to read and captures the essence of a universal experience through the story of an individual.”

More Canadian graphic novelists to be celebrated by Canada Post
In a press release, Canada Post announced more Canadian graphic novelists will be celebrated with their works on the second of a two-part series of stamps. According to the write up, the creators include Kate Beaton, Jimmy Beaulieu, Guy Delisle, Julie Doucet, Bryan Lee O’Malley and Michael Nicoll Yahgulanaas. The announcement indicates the unveiling will take place on November 20.

Montreal Comic Arts Festival announces 15th edition and exhibitor registration now open
In an Instagram post, FBDM/Montreal Comic Arts Festival announced that the 15th edition of the event will be held from May 15 to 17, 2026 in Montreal. The write up mentions that the due to factors outside of their control (the Formula 1 Grand Prix moving to May in 2026), the event organizers were forced to move the Festival forward one week. The post also mentioned that exhibitor registration is now open with a link offering more information.

Canadian creators to talk at 2025 Miami Book Fair
Miami New Times wrote about music writers planning to speak at the 2025 Miami Book Fair including Conor McCreery and Jibola Fagbamiye. The two will be in conversation about their newly released graphic novel Fela: Music Is The Weapon on November 23 at 3 pm.
