True North Country Comics Podcast nominated for 8th Canadian Podcast Awards
The Canadian Podcast Awards nominated True North Country Comics Podcast for Outstanding Arts Series. Founded in 2018 the Canadian Podcast Awards celebrate outstanding achievements in podcasting, recognizing both independent creators and established media. Voting for the 8th Canadian Podcast Awards is now open until Nov 22nd 2025 11:59pm EST. Michael Cherkas’ Red Harvest is shortlisted for 2026 KOBZAR Book Awards
The KOBZAR Book Awards revealed the shortlisted titles for this 2026 awards. Red Harvest by Michael Cherkas has been honoured as one of the books recognized for outstanding contribution to Canadian literary arts by authors who write on a topic with a tangible connection to Ukrainian Canadians. The 2026 KOBZAR Book Award is scheduled to be presented on March 26, 2026, during a ceremony at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Vancouver Comic Arts Festival announces application notice
In an Instagram post, the Vancouver Comic Arts Festival announced applications for the 2026 event will open on November 15. The notice also mentioned that the festival will return to the Roundhouse Community Centre in Vancouver, British Columbia on July 4 and 5 of 2026.

Chip to write ‘Armageddon’ for Marvel
Marvel.com published an article about the next big Marvel Comics event coming in June 2026. The brief write up mentions Chip Zdarsky will spearhead the event with groundwork being laid in Captain America and the return home of Miles Morales. More to come.

Mariko Tamaki interviewed by The Comics Journal

Applications now accepted for Bédélys Independent Awards
In a LinkedIn post, the Montreal Comic Arts Festival announced that applications are now being accepted for the Bédélys Independent Awards. Details include the deadline of January 4, 2026 for self-published Canadian creators to submit their projects along with a link to the submission website.

New Hobtown Mystery graphic novel to launch at Bearly’s
In an Instagram post, Strange Adventures comic book store announced that The Secret of the Saucer will have a book launch on November 25 at 7 pm. The write up also mentions that creators Kris Bertin and Alexander Forbes will be signing books at Bearly’s House of Blues and Ribs in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
