Canadian creators win Eisner Awards
Last night, Canadians were recognized by the 37th Annual Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards held in conjunction with 2025 San Diego Comic-Con International. Winners included:
– Boum, translated by Robin Lang and Helge Dasher, for The Jellyfish (Pow Pow Press) in the Best U.S. Edition of International Material category
– Mariko Tamaki for Zatanna: Bring Down the House (DC) in the Best Limited Series category

Boum’s The Jellyfish wins another award
In a Facebook post, Boum announced that her graphic novel The Jellyfish won a Graphic Medicine Award. Canadian creators get creepy this October
Comic Book Club Live reported that Ed Brisson and Riley Rossmo will join other creators for Super Creepshow Special #1, a new horror anthology ongoing comic book series. The article featuring artwork from the comic book also reveals that Skybound and Image Comics will publish the first issue of three creepy stories on October 8, 2025. The announcement also mentioned that the device offers young readers a Vocabulary Builder and Word Wise to learn new awards, the OpenDyslexic font and Bluetooth connectivity allowing to listen to audiobooks with headphones.
