Canadian cartoonists receive Order of Canada award
This year’s Order of Canada recipients were awarded for their contributions to Canadian society. The Order of Canada is one of our country’s highest honours. It recognizes people across all sectors of society who have made extraordinary and sustained contributions to our nation. Two notable cartoonists were included among this year’s appointees:
– Élise Gravel, C.M., Montréal, Quebec
– Michel Rabagliati, C.M., C.Q., Montréal, Quebec

George Todorovski promotes new art book on Kickstarter
In support of a new sketchbook, George Todorovski has launched a Kickstarter campaign for his Sketchbook Volume Two. The new art book is set to include 100 pages of beautiful Sci-Fi and Fantasy sketches, illustrations, and designs. Additionally, backers of the book will enjoy all 31 pages of George’s 2023 Inktober drawings in full colour. Creators gather for annual Boldt Con

Jason Loo announces signing at The Dragon
In an Instagram post, Jason Loo announced that he will be signing the highly anticipated comic book It’s Jeff: Infinity Paws #1 at The Dragon in Guelph, Ontario on July 9 from 1 to 4 pm. Jason reported that all the favourite Marvel pets are in the ‘Claws-Over’ event including the first full appearance in-print of the Spirit Cat of Vengeance COAL. Tate Brombal talks up Everything Dead & Dying
Daily Dread interviewed Tate Brombal about Everything Dead & Dying in support of the five-issue comic book miniseries starting this September from Image Comics in conjunction with Tiny Onion. Sam Agro writes for Shakespeare Adjacent project
In a LinkedIn post, Sam Agro announced that he’s part of a new Kickstarter project entitled Shakespeare Adjacent. Sam confirmed he’s written a story in the anthology book where authors reimagine Shakespeare tales in different genres.
