Heroes World has been serving the geeks, gamers, genre, comic fans and fans of popular culture for Markham, Richmond Hill and the surrounding area since 2001. Owners Andre Greenridge, and Jon Ho wanted to create a comic book shop, unlike anything they had experienced before. They wanted to break away from the stereotypes of what a comic shop is, and what the people who run it are like. Taking the best elements from different stores they had visited, they wanted to open a unique new store close to home and become a part of the community.

Heroes World is celebrating 23 years of operations this year. Additionally, the City of Richmond Hill voted the Heroes World as a Platinum Winner for being the #1 comic book store & hobby, toy and game store in Richmond Hill. Not too shabby.

In conjunction with the celebration, local comic book creators were invited to the store to join in the festivities. The discussion focused on why comic stores are a valuable part of our lives.
