Tate Brombal to write new Batgirl series starting this November
DC Comics reported that Tate Brombal will be writing a new Batgirl series alongside artist Takeshi Miyazawa. Featuring Cassandra Cain, the solo Batgirl series is slated to hit shelves starting November 6. Tegan and Sara to tour for new graphic novel Crush this fall

Canadian creators nominated for 2024 Harvey Award nominees
The Harvey Awards announced the nominees for 2024. Notable Canadian creators on the list include:
Jillian Tamaki and Mariko Tamaki for Roaming (Drawn & Quarterly) in the Book of the Year and Best Young Adult Book categories
Emily Carroll for A Guest in the House (Macmillan Publishers) in the Book of the Year category
Aminder Dhaliwal for A Witch’s Guide to Burning (Drawn & Quarterly) in the Digital Book of the Year category
Winners will be announced at New York Comic Con 2024 on Friday, October 18.

CBC Books published a list of the 30 Canadian writers making their mark in 2024. Notable graphic novelists include:
