Canada gets covered at Angoulême Comics Festival
Radio France International published a video report showcasing the Canada exhibit at the 2024 International Comics Festival in Angoulême. As the country of honour for the 2024 event, the video features interviews with Canadian ambassador to France Stéphane Dion plus creators Geneviève Bigué and Estelle Bachelard. Ryan North asks readers to choose-your-own adventure in new graphic novel
Bleeding Cool reported that Ryan North will collaborate with Chris Fenoglio to create Star Trek: Lower Decks — Warp Your Own Way slated for stores in October. On the slate from IDW Publishing, the book will offer over 100 endings, puzzles and side quests. Francis Manapul returns to childhood comic book store for signing
The Toronto Star wrote that Francis Manapul visited the Scarborough Comic Room to sign the first issue of Ghost Machine. Francis recently joined forces with other major comic book creators to form Ghost Machine, a creator-owned publishing company. Get ready for Hobtown Mystery Stories in colour this spring
Popverse reported that Oni Press will publish Hobtown Mystery Stories in colour this April. Originally published as a noir comic, the stories created by Kris Bertin and Alexander Forbes will continue on in even more new volumes into 2025. Denison Avenue discussed on CBC Radio
CBC Books reported that last week CBC Radio discussed 15 different books on various topics including the graphic novel Denison Avenue by Christina Wong and Daniel Innes. The book, which is a look at major city gentrification paired with the aging Asian population, is also part of Canada Reads 2024.
