Johnnie Christmas announces new middle grade graphic novel
On his Instagram feed, Johnnie Christmas announced that his next middle graphic novel GAMERVILLE will be published on July 16 by Harper Valley. Get a sneak peek at new crime series from Ray Fawkes
Comic Watch reported that Sanction from Mad Cave Studios and written by Ray Fawkes will appear in stores in May. When describing the series, Ray was quoted as saying that the story is “the gritty, high-impact, never-seen-this-before crime book I’ve always wanted to write!” In addition to the cover art, the article featured several pages from the new comic book series. On its Instagram feed, Renegade Arts Entertainment announced a submission event for Albert Comics Anthology volume II taking place on February 21, 7 pm at Audreys Books in Edmonton. The details included information about editor Shea Proulx and comic book creators being on hand to discuss the process for creating comic book stories. Quill & Quire offers spring preview of new middle grade graphic novels
Quill & Quire wrote about new middle graphic graphic novels appearing this spring for young people including Pillow Talk from Stephanie Cooke and Mel Valentine Vargas. Arriving in April, the graphic novel is the story of college freshman Grace Mendes who reluctantly attends her first pillow fight match, but falls in love with the ‘surprisingly gritty sport’. New graphic novel illustrates recordings by Homalco First Nation elders
CBC News reported that Alina Pete is writing and illustrating one of the stories based on recordings from Homalco First Nation elders for the yet-to-be-name graphic novel set for summer publication. The article indicated that Alina and two other indigenous artists, Valen Onsite and Gord Hill, will also contribute to the book.
