Newsarama interviewed Zac Thompson and Lonnie Nadler about their new series Yondu. When asked how this version of the character differs from the cinematic version, Lonnie said: “…it doesn’t feel like we’re just porting him from one medium to another. This was extremely important to us from the very inception of the project – to build out the new version of Yondu that he feels just as rich and multifaceted as any other character who has a titular series.” Zac concurred: “In many ways, the original Yondu is the heart of this series. He shares a namesake with the titular grimy pirate fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe have come to love, but he’s a very different character with an incredibly complex view of the universe.”

Rock Sound reported that Lights has begun work on volume two of her Skin & Earth series as follow-up to the 2017 release. Earlier this year, it was announced that Skin & Earth was picked up for the TV series. When asked about her comic book, Lights said: “I wanted to write this dorky, insecure girl who’s trying to find her strength, her confidence, and what she’s meant to do. But then I actually ended up writing myself into all the main characters: En, Tsu and Priest. I took reference photos of myself as all of them too, when Beau wasn’t around!”
