Believe it or not, I’m still not at San Diego Comic Con this year, and that won’t stop me from sharing all the breaking news and events from this annual gather of comic book creators especially those from Canada.
Before I get to the schedule of events for Saturday, here’s some of the late breaking news that’s coming from the show.

At the Manga Publishing Industry Roundtable Panel, the following titles were announced That Blue Sky Feeling, After Hours, and Sweet Blue Flowers by VIZ consulting editor-at-large Christopher Butcher.
During the convention, DC announced new DC Ink and DC Zoom graphic novels. Although these young readers imprints were previously revealed in a June 12th press release, during the show DC revealed the following books with Canadian creators:
– HARLEY QUINN: BREAKING GLASS (June 2019)—written by Mariko Tamaki and illustrated by Steve Pugh
– DC SUPER HERO GIRLS: SPACED OUT (May 2019)—written by Shea Fontana and illustrated by Agnes Garbowska
Speaking of DC, artist Francis Manapul posted a note on Instagram that he’s teaming up with Scott Snyder for the upcoming Justice League event called ‘Drowned Earth’ that will start in issue 10.
The Eisner Awards took place last evening at San Diego Comic Con and a hearty congrats goes out to all the nominees and winners.
