While I’m still not at San Diego Comic Con this year, that won’t stop me from sharing all the breaking news and events from this annual gathering of comic book creators especially those from Canada.
Before I get to the schedule of events for Friday, here’s some of the late breaking news that’s coming from the show.

Reporting from the Jell Lemire spotlight panel, The Comics Beat wrote that Jeff has finished writing the pilot for the TV version of Essex County. That’s the trilogy of stories from publisher Top Shelf. There’s no word on who might pick up the series or when it might be available.
DC Comics reported that three issue mini-series called Three Jokers, part of DC’s new Black Label imprint will be written by Geoff Johns with art by Jason Fabok. Geoff talked more about the project at DC panel on Thursday.
Canadian pop singer Lights announced plans with Entertainment One to bring her comic book series Skin & Earth to the small screen. Both a TV show and video game are in the works as a follow up to the limited comic book series. Lights wrote and illustrated the comic book that inspired a recording which won the Juno Pop Album award earlier this year.
