Yes, I’m not at San Diego Comic Con this year but that won’t stop me from sharing all the breaking news and events from this annual gathering of comic book creators especially those from Canada.

Before I get to the schedule of events for Thursday, here’s some of the late breaking news that’s coming from the show.

 

Hollywood Reporter published a story about Scott Pilgrim getting a colour collection to be issued in 2019. Marking next year’s 15^th anniversary of the release of Bryan Lee O’Malley’s Scott Pilgrim’s Precious Little Life, Oni Press will release three volumes of Scott Pilgrim Color Collection, featuring new art by Bryan and colour artist Nathan Fairbairn. Image Comics announced that Eisner Award-winning writer Ian Boothby will team up with artist Gisèle Lagacé for an ongoing series EXORSISTERS launching this October. Ian was quoted as saying: “Gisèle draws both the real and surreal so well I wanted to work with her on a story that mixed the two. Cate and Kate Harrow fight against outer and inner demons because when it comes to actual Hell on Earth that can often be family.” More details are available at ImageComics.com

ComiXology the digital comics service announced the creative teams and titles for the next wave of comiXology Originals creator owned comic books and graphics novels at a press conference yesterday at San Diego Comic Con 2018. Among the titles, ‘Hit Reblog: Comics That Caught Fire’ was highlighted from writer and artist Megan Kearney along with over a dozen webcomics creators, including Katie Shanahan, all edited by Hope Nicholson.
