Matthew Daley nominated for World Illustration Awards 2026
The World Illustration Awards 2026 released their list of nominees and Matthew Daley was among the many for Softserve & Nosferatu in the Publishing category. The World Illustration Awards, presented by the AOI in partnership with the Directory of Illustration since 2015, champions, showcases and celebrates great illustration from around the globe.
She Is Hope for Wildlife wins Hackmatack award
The Hackmatack Children’s Choice Award, the literary program that recognizes outstanding Canadian books by Atlantic Canadian creators, presented Wanda Baxter with the Best English – Non Fiction award for her recent book She Is Hope For Wildlife about wildlife rescue expert Hope Swinimer. Wanda spoke about writing the illustrated book in a podcast interview.
Ro Diamant offers sneak peek about next project
In a podcast interview, Ro Diamant hinted that next up is a collection of Cute Nose comics featuring clay-like creatures for a future date. On top of that, Ro is aiming to open a local DIY art space for creators in Victoria, British Columbia area.

Chip Zdarsky is back to writing Avengers this fall
In a Marvel press release, Chip Zdarsky announced that he’ll be joined by Marco Checchetto for Avengers #1. The new ongoing series starts November 4 with Chip stating: “…this lineup is angry as hell and ready to avenge”.
Bailie Rosenlund gets on the go with DC GO!
Launching later this year on the DC GO! mobile-first webcomics imprint, DC Comics announced Poison Ivy in Briarwood will feature art by Bailie Roselund in support of writer CRC Payne. The romance/comedy title is one of many titles featuring ‘fast-paced, character driven digital stories designed for vertical reading’. Listen to a previous chat with Bailie here.
More Matthew Daley with continued antics of Softserve and Nosferatu
The story of Softserve and Nosferatu is planned to continue according to creator Matthew Daley during a recent podcast interview. He also mentioned the future collaboration with writer Cory McCallum featuring a dark memoir without going into any specific details. Stay tuned.
Garbhan Sheridan hints about future plans
During a podcast chat, Garbhan Sheridan offered details about what’s next for the comic strip duo Cuchulainn and Ferdiad. With the first half published this month entitled Rated B for Bastard, Garbhan said the second half is slated for publication this fall.
Georgia Grieve working on longer form memoir project
While discussing the current All Stripes: 10 Years of Diary Comics, Georgia Grieve talked about the next project in store for fans. With a working title of Mending, the next book is said to be a memoir about reconnecting with family after some time of being estranged mixed with travel to Thailand. No date was offered but Georgia promised to keep readers informed via Instagram.
Chip Zdarsky keen on new Avengers Armageddon trailer
In his weekly newsletter, Chip Zdarsky showcased a new trailer for his Avengers Armageddon comic book event from Marvel Comics. His one comment: “Wow, I want to read this” but then released he wrote it.
