Nathan Fairbairn to write special ‘Supergirl’ movie prelude story
The Mary Sue reported about DC’s Supergirl Next Door #1 with a variety of creators including writer Nathan Fairbairn. The write up mentions that the issue will be published on January 28, 2026 with a Valentine’s Day theme and a whole bunch of rom-com tropes.

Todd McFarlane signs in Altadena shop, raising needed fire funds
San Gabriel Valley Tribune wrote about Todd McFarlane’s appearance at P Dot’s Comics and Collectibles in Altadena, California. The write up said that Todd donated money from the autographs to the Eaton fire relief funds.

Rosena Fung wins Amy Mathers Teen Book Award
In an Instagram post, Rosena Fung announced winning the Amy Mathers Teen Book Award for her graphic novel Age 16. Rosena was honoured by the Kids Book Centre as part of the 2025 Canadian Children’s Book Centre Awards.

Fela graphic novel in the spotlight
Publisher’s Weekly featured the recent graphic novel Fela: Music Is The Weapon calling out Jibola Fagbamiye and Conor McCreery’s work on the project. The write up offers a synopsis of the book along with a 10-page excerpt for curious readers.

CBC Books promotes Halloween reads for kids
Although Halloween has just passed, it’s still current to hype up the season for a few more hours so CBC Books has listed 13 Canadian books to read with kids for the scary season. Notables include:
Joanna Cacao illustrated Danica dela Torre Dream Detective along with writer Mikaela Lucido (published by Annick Press)
Alina Tysoe for the middle-grade graphic novel My Sister the Werebeast (published by First Second Books)
Joel A. Sutherland writer of Haunted Canada Graphic Novel, Volume 2 illustrated by Mike Feehan and others (published by Scholastic Canada)
