Patrick Blanchette takes us to Dreamland

Here’s my chat with Patrick Blanchette about his new graphic novel Dreamland Dawn, volume 1 – The Dream Reactor from Adventure Press.

Born in Baie-Comeau, Quebec, Patrick Blanchette learned to create comics at a very young age. He discovered Japanese animation on television, then was introduced to American cartoons while he was studying at college: these two influences would definitively shape his style. Patrick then continued his training in animation and storyboarding at Laval University. When he is not drawing (which he does almost all the time), Patrick likes to cook, follow the news, play video games, watch animated series with his partner and take long walks. His newest project is Dreamland Dawn, volume 1 – The Dream Reactor from Adventure Press.

Dreamland Dawn, volume 1 – The Dream Reactor is the story of Dawn who has a single thing on her mind: “Becoming a dream engineer at the wondrous Dream Reactor. But with the human and dream worlds now connected, times are uncertain and fast changing. Managing the dream industry in such circumstances is undoubtedly a massive task. As the apprentice of the great inventor Marshall the Sandman, Dawn studies day in and day out, eager to prove what she is capable of and perhaps discover the truth behind the mysterious power of her green eye…”
