NL artist recognized for published work with Image Comics
CBC News interviewed Paul Tucker about his graphic novel Stringer published by Image Comics. Together Wallace Ryan and Patrick Kindlon, Paul created the book that follows the story of a 1983 tennis racquet stringer and tennis circuit drug dealer who get mixed up with a Columbian drug cartel. Fiona Staples nominated for a 2023 Hugo Award

Graphic novels and children’s books recognized in First National Communities Read Awards
CBC Books published an article highlighting the graphic novels, amongst other literature, for best Indigenous titles. Winners are planned to be revealed in October during the First Nation Public Library Week. Among the many nominees in the YA/adult category are the following:
– A Blanket of Butterflies by Richard Van Camp and Scott B. Henderson
– The Gift of the Little People by William Dumas, illustrated by Rhian Brynjolson
– Rabbit Chase by Elizabeth LaPensee, illustrated by KC Oster
– Version Control by David A. Robertson, illustrated by Scott B. Henderson, Donovan Yaciuk and Andrew Thomas
Titles nominated in the children’s category include:
– The Raven Mother by Brett D. Huson, illustrated by Natasha Donovan
– Amō’s Sapotawan by William Dumas, illustrated by Rhian Brynjolson

Marvel preps readers for spooky comic books this Halloween
