John is the publisher of Soaring Penguin Press — the Ignatz and Eisner nominated publisher of comics and graphic novels based in Canada and the UK. Established in 2010, Soaring Penguin Press published a number of notable titles, including Loisel’s Peter Pan (in English for the first time), To End All Wars: the Graphic Anthology of the First World War (nominated for two Eisner Awards), and Ellen Lindner’s The Black Feather Falls (nominated for an Ignatz for Outstanding Series). Since VanCAF 2019, Soaring Penguin Press has published The Bad Bad Place by David Hine and Mark Stafford and Breaks Volume Two by Emma Vieceli and Malin Ryden.
