Ray is the critically-acclaimed author of the comics and graphic novels Underwinter, Intersect, One Soul, The People Inside, The Spectral Engine, Possessions, and Junction True, as well as Batman: Eternal, Constantine, Justice League Dark, and Gotham by Midnight (DC), Wolverines (Marvel), Black Hammer ’45 (Dark Horse), Jackpot! (AfterShock) and more. He is an Eisner award nominee and a YALSA and Shuster award winner.

During our chat, Ray talked about how his collaboration with Jeff Lemire came about for Black Hammer ’45. He also offered his input about bringing that title to the small screen. Ray also discussed his inspirations for his artwork from yesterday and today. Plus Ray mentioned his upcoming appearances.

The Ledger Awards announced the short list of nominees acknowledging excellence in Australian comics and graphic novels. The list includes “Final Galaxy Battle” by Jed MacKay and Sheldon Vella for Marvel Comics. More information is available on LedgerAwards.org

Ultimate Classic Rock published an article about the legendary rock group Rush releases a Farewell To Kings graphic novel. Slated for release on September 10, the 144-page  The Making of A Farewell to Kings was created by Fantoons animation studio with input from Rush guitarist Alex Lifeson and Kings album producer Terry Brown. Pre-orders for the graphic novel can be made on the Rush.com website.
