Creator calls ‘Kill Shakespeare’ the result of illegitimate love affair between ‘Game of Thrones’ and Shakespeare

True North Country Comics interviews writer Conor McCreery who calls his 'Kill Shakespeare' comicbook the result of an illegitimate love affair between 'Game of Thrones' and Shakespeare

Here’s my chat with Conor McCreery.

Conor has written for Dynamite, BOOM!, Titan and D.C. He’s probably best known though as the co-creator of Kill Shakespeare, the swashbuckling tale published by IDW, which has been adapted for the stage, and is being developed for television. Past is Prologue: Juliet is the fifth chapter in the award-winning series.

During our chat, Conor talked about recent exhibitions including the Toronto Comic Arts Festival, London’ Spring MCM show, plus a talk in Los Angeles UCLA about medieval literature and comics. He talked about using comic books as means of getting Shakespeare into schools’ educational studies. Conor also dished about his favourite sports team, the Toronto Raptors and offered his thoughts on the coming season.
