On this episode, I chat with Colton Fox about his new comic book Witch Hazel: Variety Hour and tips on making comic books.
Colton Fox is a writer, artist, and educator based in Kingston, Ontario. He’s also the writer and co-creator of Witch Hazel. His artwork appears throughout the queer coming-of-age film ‘Erin’s Guide to Kissing Girls’ and is featured in galleries, anthologies, music videos and publications… yet somehow, he still can’t pay his phone bill. Colton regularly hosts comic workshops and courses. His latest comic book is Witch Hazel: Variety Hour featuring art by Beige Blum and published by Silver Sprocket.
Witch Hazel: Variety Hour offers a story of Hazel a talented spell caster and walking disaster where “spells fizzle, side gigs go sideways, and magical villains wreak havoc! For Hazel, it’s just another day as a witch-for-hire. Luckily, her friends, her crush, and her familiar Noot are there to pick up the pieces (or make things worse). Monsters, Magic and Mayhem? Hazel’s definitely not getting paid enough for this!” The 48-page deluxe printing features a cardstock cover with foil accents, fun activities and a sticker sheet.
