Roberto Viacava illustrates the tale of ‘Voyager’

Here’s my chat with Roberto Viacava and Rodolfo Santullo about the comic book series Voyager now available on Kickstarter.

Originally from Argentina but now residing in Ontario, Roberto Viacava is a comic book artist, and illustrator. His work has been published in several countries such as Italy, France, Argentina, Germany, Poland, and the US. Roberto has provided artwork for DC Comics, Avatar Press (USA), Humanoïdes Asocies, Soleil Prod, Delcourt (France), Eura (Italia), Pictus Ed (Argentina). He also collaborated on the Kickstarter project Intrepid Dusk.

Originally from Mexico City but now residing in Montevideo, Uruguay, Rodolfo Santullo is a journalist, writer, comic book scriptwriter, and editor of comics at the helm of Grupo Belerofonte. He has published ten narrative books – including titles such as ‘Sobres Papel Manila,’ ‘Luces de Neón,’ ‘Cementerio Norte,’ ‘Matufia,’ and ‘Los cazadores del rey’ – and more than forty graphic novels in countries such as Uruguay, Argentina, Brazil, the USA, the United Kingdom, France, Denmark, Spain, Germany, and China. These include works like ’40 Coffins,’ ‘Dengue,’ ‘Far South,’ ‘Reflection,’ and ‘Zomvikings’ in the USA. He is the scriptwriter for the movie ‘The Broken Glass Theory,’ directed by Diego Fernández Pujol.” Together with Roberto, they created Voyager.

Voyager is the story of Gus Benes who takes an adventure that transcends time and place. After a tornado whisks him away to a strange and distant land he confronts multiple dangers and discovers if he measures up to the ‘chosen one’ status the locals expect — unless it’s all a product of his own imagination. 

Voyager is described as “an adventure story inspired by Greek myths and fantastic journeys, in the spirit of Moebius Arzach. It is a hero’s journey, where our protagonist must first find himself in order to be more than he expected.”
