Clayton Brown talks about comic books tackling serious concerns

Here’s my chat with Clayton Brown about the comic book series Goose for MADD Canada.

As a Police Officer for over 20 years, Sergeant Clayton Brown has seen the senseless damage done by impaired drivers. Drinking and driving while impaired by drugs costs our communities in lives lost and in damage to people, property and families. As a lifetime comic book fan and amateur artist, this story of Goose was created to combine his passion for the comic book art form with a serious traffic safety message.

Loc Nguyen (who will be interviewed in a future podcast) is an artist, creative director and self-described coffee addict. For over a decade, he has been creating concept art, storyboard and character design for the film and television industry. He has a passion for telling story by creating character concept, comics and other personal illustration. Loc has provided the illustrations for the Goose comic book written by Clayton Brown.

The story of Goose goes like this: “After serving in the Special Forces, Alex Lee decided to serve her community by joining the Police Service. Now she is the Supervisor of a unique Special Response Team and utilizes advanced technology that affords her the ability of flight via techno-organic wings. The hope is that this book will inspire people to plan ahead and make the right decisions while travelling our streets, roads and highways.”
