Adam Tupper pokes fun at comic books and super hero tropes

Here’s my chat with Adam Tupper about The Adventures of Captain So-So and Mr. Maybe. This podcast is available on Apple Podcasts and Google Podcasts. And the podcast is also available on YouTube. Please like and subscribe to that video channel.

Currently residing in Toronto with frequent trips to Ottawa, Adam has traveled all over Canada and the US showcasing his work. He describes his work as “Manic, but responsibly so.” His work falls primarily into four main categories; pinup art, mashup design, horror and what he calls ‘Geek Gallery’. As a full-time artist, Adam formerly had deep ties to both the geek and burlesque community. From 2013-2016 he was the owner and organizer behind Wonder Geeks Activate!, which produced geek-themed events in Ottawa, Toronto, and all over Ontario and Quebec. He also co-produced the Ghoulesque Revue, a Toronto horror-themed burlesque show, and was the co-creator of Error 404: Show Not Found, an Ottawa-based community tv series airing on Rogers 22 from 2015 to 2016. Once an occasional stage host/comedian/singer, he is currently dedicating the entirety of his time to art pursuits.

In late 2020 Adam decided to finally create his own comic book series. Titled The Adventures of Captain So-So and Mister Maybe, the six-chapter comedy series follows the misadventures of a group of superheroes as they navigate life, adventuring, villains, pop culture references, and robots. Lots and lots of robots.
