Here’s some of the current news about Canadian comic book creators and supporters.

Adventures in Poor Taste recently interviewed Ed Brisson about his work on New Mutants. When asked about what makes the team of younger mutants stand on their own, Ed said: “This is going to sound derogatory toward them–and it’s not meant to be–but they’re like the X-Men B-Squad and there’s something about that I like. They still have that youthfulness, that’s fun to play around with as well and they’ve still got their own drama–it’s not as dramatic romance-wise as the X-Men. So it’s a nice break from the romance stuff a little bit.”

ComicBook.com interviewed Jim Zub about the third instalment in the Dungeons & Dragons Young Adventurer’s Guide series entitled Dungeons & Tombs co-written along with Stacy King and Andrew Wheeler. When asked about the new book available on November 26th from Ten Speed Press, Jim said: “The first books (Warriors & Weapons and Monsters & Creatures) are about setting up a narrative, characters, heroes, and the stuff that they fight…So now it’s about setting a stage. Where is this taking place? And what kind of stories can we tell in those locations?”

Adventures in Poor Taste interviewed Marcus To about the upcoming Excalibur series. When asked if he was a fan of the original Excalibur series, Marcus said: “I didn’t have a lot of money when I was a kid, so I’d sparingly buy one–“Oh, Colossus is in that one, I’ll buy that one–oh, Cyclops is in that one.” So I jumped around a lot as a kid and it wasn’t until later in my years I could read them. But I always loved Excalibur because it was a fun book.”
