Britt Saunders talks about ‘All Frugg’d Up’

Here’s my chat with Britt Saunders about her new graphic novel All Frugg’d Up from Kitten Coast Comics.

Based in Toronto, Ontario, Britt Saunders is the illustrator/designer behind Sparkle Collective — her one-person business that began in 2015. She’s inspired by cats (obviously) and all things magical. Britt manages everything from creating the artwork and designing items to packing/shipping orders while offering a wonderful collection of paper craft, enamel pins and collectibles designed to be a big hit for fans of cats, unicorns, and or anyone who is young at heart. Her creative process starts by sketching out ideas on paper or on her iPad, and then refining and finishing them in Adobe Illustrator. She claims that the art tool she probably can’t live without is her Apple Pencil. Britt has exhibited her work in cities across Canada and sold in shops throughout North America, Europe, and the UK.

Established in 2023, Kitten Coast follows the offbeat adventures of three misfit friends: a washed-up former child star named Kitt, free-spirited and deal-loving Wilbur, and a very corrupt businessfrog named Frugg.  Available this summer in a graphic novel entitled All Frugg’d Up, the story goes like this: “With only 24 hours to save his failing businesses, Frugg embarks on an increasingly surreal adventure to make things right. Meanwhile his house-sitting pals, Kitt and Wilbur, battle unexpected visitors, grievous bodily injury and their own very, very weird night. “
