VanCAF2020 — In Conversation With Joan Steacy

In celebration of the comic book creators who were planning to exhibit at the Vancouver Comic Arts Festival 2020, here’s my chat with Joan Steacy. The podcast is available on Apple Podcasts and Google Podcasts.

Joan is a visual artist who has worked in a variety of disciplines, including sculpture, illustration, and digital painting. A graduate of Sheridan College, The Ontario College of Art & Design, and The University of Victoria, she currently teaches at Camosun College in the Comics and Graphic Novels Program she co-created with partner Ken Steacy. She is also the author/illustrator of So, That’s That! the biography of her father, a scrap-metal dealer who lived to be 100. Most recently, she illustrated a short story for “A Minyen Yidn” by Trina Robbins. Her most recent graphic novel is entitled Aurora Borealice.
