Katlin Murray

Katlin is an author and has always had a love for stories. She began writing her first book in 2010 after her second son was born. Katlin also works as a Production Manager on Indie films and is currently working on turning the feature film script for BEYOND HELL into a novel. Her latest book: Avidaura: Fallen, is now available.

During our chat, Katlin explained her book series and offered insight into her literary influences. She also provided her thoughts on what International Women’s Day means to her.

Here’s some of the current news about Canadian comic book creators and supporters.

CBC Arts published an article about a new graphic novel called Christie Pits by Jamie Michaels with illustrator Doug Fedrau. The book reflects on the 1933 riot at Toronto’s Christie Pits Park. Jamie was quoted as saying: “The advantage of the form is I can give so much depth and background of the social climate of the time while still maintaining the story interest. I can do things with a graphic novel in one image that would take several pages in a novel.” You can read more at


All About Ann Arbor wrote that Michael DeForge will be reading and signing his newest collection Leaving Richard’s Valley at Vault of Midnight Ann Arbor on April 13. “Nobody makes comics like Michael DeForge,” says Vault of Midnight co-owner Nick Yribar. “We look forward to his new releases like Christmas. His work is weird, beautiful, upsetting, empathetic, affecting …he’s the prime, perfect example of how surprising and unique this medium can be.
