Kelvin is an author and illustrator and owner of Black Sun Comics; a publishing company that creates African-centered science fiction and fantasy comics (a genre also known as Afrofuturism).

During our chat, Kelvin provided an update about Black Sun Comics. He also talked about his inspirations as a comic book creator.

Prairie Comics Festival announced that writer Cecil Castellucci (author of Soupy Leaves Home and much more) will be a special guest at their annual event taking place May 4-5 at the Millennium Library in Winnipeg, Manitoba. More information is available on PrairieComics.com

CBC published an article about Angel and Catbird author Margaret Atwood regarding the five memorable things she told the interviewer about her childhood. She admitted that the loved horror comics and said “that was part of my general interest in things like that” and “I’m a word addict. Other people are addicted to coffee, cigarettes, booze, dope – I’m addicted to words.” You can read more on CBC.ca

This Week in Marvel interviewed writer Ed Brisson just in time for the debut of Uncanny X-Men #1. One of the questions was about a favourite X-Men character. Ed was quoted as saying “It seems like such an obvious answer, but mine is Wolverine. He’s the coolest character.” You can read more of the interview on Marvel.com

The New York Public Library published their list of the best books of 2018. Jillian Tamaki’s They Say Blue was included in the Best Books for Children List.  Karl Kerschl’s Isola and Mariko Tamaki’s Supergirl: Being Super were included the Best Books for Teens. Aminder Dhaliwal’s Woman World and Exit Stage Left: The Snagglepuss Chronicles with art by Mike Feehan were included in the Best Books for Adults list.  You can read more at http://www.nypl.org
